FAQs

What is CBD and how does it work?
CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol, the most prominent naturally occurring cannabinoid component found in hemp, and comprises up to 40% of the hemp plant. According to the US Government, cannabidiol is “…devoid of psychoactive effect.” After THC (9-tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD is by far the most studied natural cannabinoid. Additionally, CBD is increasingly the subject of advanced medical research and more is being learned about it every day.

Is CBD and THC the same thing?
No, they are different compounds. CBD and THC are both cannabinoids, but THC produces psychoactive effects causing a drugged symptom commonly known as a “high”. Although all CBD extractions will contain some THC, our CBD hemp plants are selected, cultivated, and processed to eliminate all THC content and are therefore devoid of any psychoactive effects.

Is this medical cannabis and do I need a doctor’s recommendation?
Because CBD is not psychoactive, a doctor’s recommendation is not necessary, however, we do advise you to consult your physician to be sure CBD is appropriate for you.

How much should I use per day?
Sensitivities vary from person to person. Discretion is advised by and for each individual, based on experiential preference. However, as a loose guideline, 5-20 mg per dose and anywhere from 10-200 mg per day is our recommendation.

How is hemp different from marijuana? Why grow hemp and not marijuana for CBD?
Both are Cannabis sativa plants, however, the level of TCH and other compounds differ. Marijuana has been bred to achieve high levels of THC for its psychoactive effects. Hemp grown for medical use is cultivated and processed to extract CBD and other cannabinoid oils with the lowest possible level of THC so there are no psychoactive effects from the use of the plant.

Should I vape the MCT Oil tincture?
No. Though vaping the tincture will technically work and you will feel the effects of the CBD, vaping MCT Oil is not good for your health and you should never do this. Our crystalline products are much better suited for vaping.

What is your refund policy?
Unfortunately we cannot offer refunds for any opened items due to our own strict sanitation standards. However, if you're experiencing technical issues with the cartridges or have any specific issues with a product, please email us at info@johnnyapple.com. We usually do a good job of replying back within a day or two.

How long does shipping usually take?
Depending on your shipping location, domestic First Class shipping takes anywhere from 2-5 days. Domestic Priority shipping is typically 1-3 days.

Do you ship outside the United States? Do you offer expedited shipping?
We currently only ship within the US with free first class and priority shipping.

Why isn't my tracking number working?

If an order is placed after 5pm on Friday, it unfortunately will not get processed until Monday morning as our offices are closed on weekends. If your tracking number is not working, we advise waiting a couple hours and trying again. Shipping confirmation emails are sent when we print the labels, but they don’t actually get put into the system until they are picked up and scanned by the post office, which for us typically happens around 5pm PST.

Do you sell wholesale?

Do you offer special rates for active military personnel and veterans?
Yes, please email us at info@johnnyapple.com and we'll get you squared away.

Can I add the isolate to an e-liquid?
Some patients like to add our crystalline to their favorite e-juices or vaping liquids, however this is sort of a tricky thing to master. Mixing our isolate with e-liquid is okay, but we recommend first dissolving your crystals in pure PG before introducing the isolate to a high VG blend. The crystalline is not water-soluble and therefore does not dissolve into VG, and the introduction of VG to the CBD solution can promote re-crystallization, which can easily clog up tanks. The general rule of thumb is the more CBD you use the greater the chance this type of re-crystallization will occur. If you are mixing your CBD with an e-liquid, we recommend using an RDA (rebuildable drip atomizer) so you can drip it directly onto coils to avoid clogging and potentially ruining your tank or RTA. Just remember, if this is something you want to try, proceed with caution!

Health Benefits & Risks of CBD

Any substance applied externally or ingested into the human body may affect individuals in different ways. CBD and other phytochemical constituents of hemp are considered to be generally safe and we are not aware of any reports of adverse effects. However, as with any therapeutic, cosmetic, or food product, at the first sign of a reaction or discomfort, use should be discontinued until consultation with your doctor.

With respect to the beneficial properties of CBD, there have been numerous claims made about its positive effects for epilepsy, cancer, dementia, and multiple sclerosis. However, the scientific community has not formed a consensus as to the validity of these claims and we advise anyone to be cautious about their veracity.
